Beetroot Curd Dumplings

SPONGY-Exuberant-Savory Bhallas to amaze your Palate !!!

Prep / Cooking time-60 mins, Serves-4

Ingredients :

  1. 1/2 Cup Buckwheat Flour
  2. 1/4 Cup Grated & Boiled Beetroot
  3. 1 Tbsp Hung-Curd
  4. 1 Cup Thick Yogurt
  5. Condiments as per Taste (Asafoetida, Sea Salt, Coriander Powder, Ginger Powder, White Pepper Powder, Fennel Seeds Powder, Cardamom Powder)
  6. Oil for deep-frying

How to prepare Dumplings / Bhalle :

  1. To prepare Dumplings, sift Buckwheat flour & all condiments to remove impurities
  2. Gently fold Beetroot & Hung-curd into it
  3. Consistency will be sticky yet Moist
  4. If it’s too sticky add little flour. Avoid adding excessive flour else dumplings will loose it’s moisture
  5. Heat oil in a Wok
  6. Make small balls & drop it in oil
  7. Fry at medium flame allowing it to cook through
  8. Cook until colour is mild dark
  9. Remove on Paper Towel

How to assemble :

  1. Whisk thick yogurt & transfer it to serving bowl
  2. Add Condiments as per taste, considering the fact Dumplings are savory too
  3. Add dumplings in yogurt
  4. You can Serve it both at room temperature or chilled
