Preparation – 10 mins, Makes – 2 (depending upon the size/shape you choose)
Ingredients :
- ½ cup roasted Buckwheat Groats
- ½ Sugar
- ¼ cup desiccated or fresh Coconut
- 2 medium sized grated Beetroot
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp. Canola Oil
- 1 tsp. Cardamom Powder
- Nuts (optional)
How to Prepare Buckwheat Groats :
- Place the pressure cooker over the gas and heat it
- Add oil, groats and beetroot and stir for 3 mins
- Add coconut, nuts and cardamom and sauté for 3 mins
- Now add water and sugar, stir well
- Close the lid of the cooker and bring 7 whistles
- Simmer the flame and cook for another 5 mins
- Turn-off the flame and allow the pressure in the cooker to release by itself. Do not open the cooker, since the groats would still be cooking even after removed from stove
How to Serve Buckwheat Groats :
- Take a serving plate or bowl
- Place cooked groats and garnish with nuts, serve hot or cold as per choice
