🌾 Ingredients for Babka bread :
Dough :
- ½ tbsp instant dry Yeast
- ¼ cup lukewarm Water
- 2 tbsp Demerara Sugar
- 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Canola Oil
- 1 tbsp Dairy-free milk or oil for brushing

- ¼ cup melted milk Chocolate or chocolate spread
- ¼ cup dairy-free milk / dark Chocolate chips, as per taste
- 6 chopped Dates
- 2 tbsp Pineapple jam for brushing
♨️ Preparing Babka bread :
- Combine the dough ingredients & knead for 5 mins, rest it 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Gently knead it again for a min to release the air and make it pliable.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal-size.
- Take 1 ball, flatten it in oval-shape, spread melted chocolate, add dates & chocolate chips, roll it to make a loaf.
- Now cut into half, braid & roll it, then keep it in a muffin tin for a similar shape as I got.
- Make remaining breads likewise and brush the babkas, then proof for at least 30 mins.
- Preheat air fryer @180° C for 5 mins.
- Place muffin tin in air fryer & bake babkas @140° C for 20 mins, flip it & bake another 10 mins for even baking.
- Once baked gently remove from air fryer & let it cool slightly.
🍽 Assembling Babka bread :
- Apply pineapple jam while its still warm so it can absorb the sweetness & retain its moistness.
- Serve them warm and enjoy feasting 😋.
Useful Tips :
- Make sure to proof the dough in a warm place for the perfect results, give it additional time if needed.
- Instead of chocolate spread you can also use peanut or almond butter for nutty flavours.
