Lord Ganesha known to overcome obstacles & help achieve goals 😇, helped me in making my #Modak version which is coarse yet mouth-melting 👉 ‘Gluten-free Polvoron Modak’ filled with ‘Blueberries compote’. 2 rich #food experience 1st first bite 😋. Yeah! 2 experience in a bite was quite a challenge 😨. But Woohoo I made it 👏. My version of Modak is made of dry fruits flour & coconut oil filled with berries😇. ⏰ Prep Time : 10 mins, 🍲 Cooking Time : 15 mins, 🍴 Servings : 15 small sized modaks
🌾 Ingredients for Gluten-free Polvoron Modak :
- 1/3 cup each Almonds & Hazelnuts with skin, Cashews, Walnuts (or any of your choice)
- ½ cup Milk Powder
- ¼ cup desiccated Coconut Powder
- 1/8 cup + 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 3-4 tbsp Coconut oil (or any)
- ¼ tsp Cardamom powder
- 1-2 tsp instant Coffee powder
- 1-2 tsp Cocoa powder
- 1 pack of Blueberries
- Modak and Polvoron moulds
♨️ Preparing Gluten-free Polvoron Modak :
1. Take a mixing jar and coarsely grind all the dry fruits
2. Dry roast dry fruits mixture in pan on a low flame for 5 mins
3. Remove from heat, add milk powder & mix well
4. Add coconut powder & stir well
5. Add sugar & mix well
6. Finally add cardamom powder & mix well
7. Now add wet ingredient i.e. coconut oil & mix nicely, you should be able to hold the mixture
8. If mixture falls apart then add another 1 tsp of coconut oil, and Polvoron mixture is ready
9. We’ll now make blueberry compote for which place blueberries in a pan and cook on low flame
10. Add powdered sugar & mix well
11. Within 5 mins you will find blueberries have softened that they can be mashed
12. Start to mash unless blueberries convert into paste
13. In another 5 mins it should be ready
14. Turn-off the heat and bring it to room temperature by rest it at kitchen counter
🍽 Assembling of Gluten-free Polvoron Modak :
- Divide the Polvoron mixture into 3 parts
- Keep 1st bowl plain
- In 2nd bowl add cocoa powder & mix well
- Add coffee to 3rd bowl & mix well
5. Grease Polvoron mould, fill with mixture, gently press the mould on plate in downwards direction and its ready to serve
6. To make Modak, grease the mould and fill with mixture
7. Make cavity by pressing the mixture to the sides of the mould
8. Now pour blueberry compote
9. Cover with Polvoron mixture and press well
10. Demould gently and Modak is ready to be served to Lord Ganesha
Quick tip, if mixture breaks then put it in the refrigerator for 10 mins & it should demould easily
