Wholewheat Churros

Healthy Food Lovers ๐Ÿ™‚this festive season letโ€™s step ahead from being a Cook to becoming a Food Designer ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Prepare with me โ€˜Wholewheat Designer Churrosโ€™ and enjoy festivals with both Healthy and Creative ideas ๐Ÿ˜‡. Festivals are generally celebrated with Rangoli ๐Ÿ™‚. Therefore, this Diwali I made Food Rangoli ๐Ÿ’to make it look colorful, healthy and lip-smacking ๐Ÿ˜‹. Try making Food Rangoli without the use of harmful food colors ๐ŸŽจ the way I did. Involve even your kids or family members to design the Churros and allow them bring their artistic skills ๐Ÿ–Œ. After all Festivals are meant to be celebrated with Family ๐Ÿค—. โฐ Prep Time : 5 mins, ๐Ÿฒ Proofing / Bake Time : 3 hours / 10 mins / ๐Ÿด Servings : For an occasion

๐ŸŒพ Ingredients for Wholewheat Churros :

  1. 1 tsp Yeast
  2. 4 tbsp Brown Sugar (or any)
  3. Lukewarm Water
  4. 2 cup Wholewheat flour
  5. 1/2 cup Semolina
  6. 2 tbsp Canola Oil (Optional)
  7. 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
  8. A pinch of Salt
  9. Murukku Maker
  10. Aluminium foil sheets
  11. Chocolates to drizzle (good quality)
  12. Colorful chocolate – sprinkles and chips

โ™จ๏ธ Preparing for Wholewheat Churros :

  1. Whisk gently yeast and sugar in water
  2. Leave it aside for 15 mins or until you see a foam forming
  3. Now gradually add both flours, oil, cinnamon powder and salt
  4. Knead it well for 2-3 mins
  5. Grease the dough lightly. This will avoid the dough getting dried
  6. Allow it to rise for 2-3 hours or until it doubles in size. I generally keep it in Microwave as the results are good – keep it off ๐Ÿ˜
  7. Once the dough is risen, knead it for 30 seconds and make little balls of the dough
  8. Grease the murukku maker and put the balls into the murukku maker
  9. Now take an aluminium foil and start making Churros or any design you like, over it. Show some food designing ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. Let the churros rest for 10 mins
  11. Preheat Airfryer @ 200ยฐC for 5 mins
  12. Now place the churros and bake for 10 mins @ 160ยฐC. Flip it after 7 mins for even baking
  13. Likewise bake all the churros
  14. Allow it to cool

Churros can be fun even with Microwave or OTG, use the standard baking settings

๐Ÿฝ Assembling / Presenting for Wholewheat Churros :

  1. Melt chocolates and pour over the churros
  2. Decorate with sprinkles or Drizzle chocolate. Let your creativity do the magic ๐Ÿ˜
  3. Take a baking paper or serving dish and place the designer churros and enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‹
  4. You can also preserve them in a Fridge and it can last for a day or two as well
